Kathleen Ngale

Kathleen Ngala was born around 1933 and was one of the senior law women in Utopia. She was of the Anmatyerr language group, married to the artist and sculptor Paddy Motorbike.

Kathleen lived at the Camel Camp outstation in Utopia with her large family and her sisters, artists Polly Ngala, Maisie Ngala, and Angeline Pwerle Ngala. As a senior custodian of the Bush Plum – Arnwekety – in her country of Arlparra, Kathleen, like her sisters, expresses their dreaming through distinct techniques.

Kathleen began her artistic career in batik before transitioning to paint and canvas. An exceptionally skilled painter, she has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally.
