From Balgo in the Great Sandy Desert, Joselyn Sturt uses strong vibrant colours to give power to her ancestral country.
Joselyn has painted her grandmother's (Tjemma Freda Napanangka) country called Lulapi, south of Yagga Yagga. This painting depicts landscape and a range of bush food found in this area.
The lines depict Tali (sand hills) and some Warran (claypans) filled with blue surface water. The dotting depicts Tjirrilpartja (bush carrots). There are Tjapakarakara which are small bushes that produce a small green grape like berry are located on the edge of this country. "They lift the bush and get green berries underneath".
