Product Details
"Ulay Kutja - Two Boys Who Travel with the Seven Sisters" by Vincent Forrester Muntjantji is a beautiful and strong painting with a cream background. The iconography is created using natural 'karrku,' a prized ceremonial ochre from a specific mountain near Uluru, collected by Vincent's aunties who have the right to do so.

This painting continues the Dreaming story of the two boys, Ulay Kutja, sons of the Seven Sisters, who travel the Milky Way. The story narrates how these two boys journey across the country and, after rain, play in the mud. They pile the mud up to create the iconic formations of Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

Vincent Forrester, an Aboriginal Australian activist, artist, and community leader, brings this ancestral tale to life with his artwork. His use of traditional ochre, collected by his aunties, adds a deep cultural significance to his pieces. Inspired by great ochre artists like Rover Thomas, Vincent's paintings are celebrated for their strength and simplicity of form.

Through his art, Vincent preserves and highlights the rich cultural heritage of Indigenous Australians. His work ensures that these ancient traditions and stories continue to be recognized and valued in contemporary times, bridging the past and present through powerful visual storytelling.
