"Wildflowers" by Sharon K. Hayes Peltharre captures the glistening beauty of wildflowers in Central Australia. This painting reflects the stunning transformation of the landscape after rain, when vast areas are covered in wildflowers as far as the eye can see.
Sharon K. Hayes Peltharre hails from Santa Teresa, located in the Eastern MacDonnell Ranges of Central Australia. She belongs to the Eastern Arrernte language group, also known as Aranda, whose traditional lands extend from the Eastern MacDonnell Ranges to Mparntwe (Alice Springs). The Eastern Arrernte dialect is one of the most widely spoken in Australia.
Sharon shares her artistic talent with her sister, Claire E. Hayes, who also beautifully paints the wildflowers of their homeland. Another member of this artistic family is Jacinda Hayes, contributing to the rich tradition of painting within their community.
"Wildflowers" by Sharon K. Hayes Peltharre not only celebrates the breathtaking natural beauty of the Central Australian landscape but also honours the cultural heritage of the Eastern Arrernte people. Through her vibrant and detailed artwork, Sharon preserves and showcases the seasonal splendour and the deep connection her people have with their land. This painting is a testament to the enduring legacy and artistic talent of the Hayes family
