This painting talks about the artist’s personal life journey as an i-taukei (indigenous Fijian). There is a Fijian canoe with the orange and red and there are various patterns within the canoe itself. The designs with the blue depict the journeys of the ancestors before and William as a young person in his new journey puts his footsteps into the journey itself made by his ancestors whereas the other patterns on the left and right symbolise his current journey through life.

After many years as an artist at the Oceania Centre for Arts, Culture and Pacific Studies (OCAC-PS) at the University of the South Pacific (USP) William now works independently as an artist, passionate as he is of painting.
