Product Details

In various tones of grey, white and black this classic rendition of the Water Dreaming site of Pirlinyanu (a rocky outcrop with natural occurring rock wells that capture the water when it rains), can be hung either on the vertical or horizontal as it is a landscape viewed from an aerial perspective.

Located in the Tanami Desert not far from Nyrripi, an outstation west of Yuendumu and north west of Alice Springs this is part of the song cycle connecting other important water dreaming sites owned by those of the Nangala/Nampijtinpa and Jangala/Jampitjinpa language groups.

Julie Nangala Robertson is the winner of the 2023 Telstra Aboriginal Art Award in Best Painting Category.

The eldest of the five daughters of Dorothy Napangardi Robinson has recently changed the spelling of her surname to Robertson, feeling that her father, Windy, had misspelt it as Julie's other relatives in Yuendumu are all Robertson. Windy had two wives, Rene Robinson and Dorothy Robinson.
