This work by Barbara Napangarti Reid depicts tali – the waving horizontal lines depicting the sweeping sand dunes of her Sand Country. Her choice of colour to capture the tone of the Central Australian desert. The painting is of the landscape, puli or rock formations (that are represented by the stratified, U shapes), and tali (the waving horizontal lines that depict the sand hills).

This is women's business and the stratified line have roots in the body paint that is worn by women during their sacred ceremonies.
